Eddie Murphy says he’s going on a stand-up tour in 2020
Eddie Murphy is officially returning to the stage! The 58-year-old comedian and actor is returning to stand-up. He shared during a podcast interview,
Next year, in 2020, I’m going to go on the road and do some stand-up.
This isn’t the first time that Murphy shared that he plans to return to stand-up. During his appearance on Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee he said,
“I’m going to do it again. Everything just has to be right. You have to get up there and start working it out.”
While no details about his stand-up have been shared, he’ll be getting back to his comedic roots, returning as a Saturday Night Live host on Dec. 21.
This will mark the first time he’s hosted in 35 years. He’s also starring in the upcoming Netflix biopic Dolemite Is My Name.
He’s currently filming Coming 2 America, alongside Arsenio Hall, which is slated for release in December 2020.
