Antonio Brown Cut By New England Patriots, NFL’er Responds On Social Media

Troubled NFL star, Antonio Brown, 31, faces another set back on Friday (Sept. 20th) evening as the result of the New England Patriots announcing their decision to release him. Just less than two weeks after signing Brown onto a new roster, the Patriots released a statement on Brown’s cut. It reads,

”The New England Patriots are releasing Antonio Brown. We appreciate the hard work of many people over the past 11 days, but we feel that it is best to move in a different direction at this time.”

After New England announced his release, Brown who reportedly practiced with the Patriots earlier Friday (Sept. 20th), tweeted his thanks to the organization.

“That’s for the opportunity, appreciate Patriots.”

He then jokingly addressed being cut from the team roster.

“Just got fired on Friday.”

The cut will be Brown’s second in less then a month. Soon after signing with New England, he faced multiple sexual allegations, including former trainer, Britney Taylor. She filed the allegations on Sept. 10 in the Southern District of Florida that includes two alleged incidents in June 2017.

Just a week after, another woman came forward with claims against Brown who hired her to paint a mural on a wall of his Pittsburgh-area home in 2017. While at Brown’s residents, the woman alleges the receiver sexually harassed her as she painted his mural. She tells Sports Illustrated,

“He was flirty with me but I paid him no mind because I was there on business, plus, I had already seen him with multiple girls in the short time I was with him. I was about 40% done on the second day, and I’m on my knees painting the bottom, and he walks up to me butt-ass naked, with a hand cloth covering his [penis] and starts having a conversation with me.”

Things may get worse for the former NFL receiver as sources tell ESPN:

“more interviews and information-gathering being conducted now beyond Taylor.”

During a press conference before the team announced Brown’s cut, Patriots coach Bill Belichick walked out while being questioned about the troubled receiver.

Just a day prior (Sept 10th) to Taylor revealing her claims against Brown, Patriots announced they officially signed the 7-time Pro Bowler to a 1-year/$15 million contract, following his fall out with the Oakland Raiders. His contract with New England was divided into two parts — $5 million that was due to be paid Sept. 23 (Monday) and $4 million that wasn’t due to be paid until Jan. 15.
