Lonzo Ball Reacts To Dad LaVar Ball Referring To Him As “Damaged Goods”: I Know He Loves Me, I Love Him

NBA star, Lonzo Ball recalls the viral moment of his father, LaVar, calling the New Orleans Pelicans guard “damaged goods” during their family’s, “Ball in the Family” show on Facebook. In a video, the Ball family addressed the family’s struggles with the brand, discussing whether the name should be changed. On Friday (Sept. 27th), Lonzo reacted to the moment, joking:

“That was the most popular scene, it was everywhere. That’s part of life. I’m growing up. He has his ways, I have mine.”

He continued, adding that’s the dynamic of he and his father’s relationship.

“We just got into it. That’s what fathers and sons do as time goes on. At the end of the day, it’s always love at the end. I know he loves me, I love him. We’re just not always going to agree on everything. That’s all it was.”

Ball’s “damaged goods” comment is a reference to the amount of injuries Lonzo has experienced in his first two years in the league. Lonzo has played in only 99 of a possible 164 games through two NBA seasons.

As reported, back in March, the NBA star seemingly cut ties with his family brand, The Big Baller Brand, amidst their company co-founder, Alan Foster, misplacing $1.5 million from Ball’s personal and business accounts. Lonzo spoke on making his own decisions as he moves past his business relationship with his family’s brand.

“I think what makes it easier is that I’m controlling everything now. You really can’t tell me what to do. This is my life, my career. I’m making all the decisions now. I chose to go to CAA. I just think me becoming my own man is going to make it easier, honestly.”

The former Lakers star made his own statement with covering up the BBB logo tattooed on his right arm. In the photo, Ball’s triple B’s were made into two black and red dice next to his, “Born 2 Ball,” tattoo.
