Kim Kardashian – Judge Orders Immediate Release For Inmate Who Met With Reality Star
Judge Orders Immediate Release For Inmate Who Met With Kim Kardashian, Was Serving Time For Committing Murder At 16
An inmate who sat down with Kim Kardashian recently will be getting out of jail sooner than later.
A judge has ordered the immediate release for Momolu Stewart, who was convicted of murder when he was 16. Stewart had fatally shot and killed an unarmed man. He’s been behind bars for 22 years. Now, his sentence has been reduced to time served, and he’s set to be on probation for five years upon his release.
The judge’s decision comes after Kadashian penned a letter, pleading with the judge to grant Stewart a release. She had sat down with Stewart in July while taping her forthcoming documentary Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project, that will air on Oxygen. She agreed to write the letter after saying she was convinced Stewart was a changed man. A portion of her two-page letter reads,
“I write to humbly request your compassion and humanity in supporting the release of Momolu Stewart. I have been actively involved in cases across the country and in my view, Momolu is especially deserving of your consideration.”
“He has been rehabilitated and is no longer dangerous to society. I also have every confidence that upon his release he will continue to guide others away from a life of crime and continue on his own path to redemption and success.”
Stewart has taken to social media to thank Kardashian for her efforts.
He will be the second man convicted for the murder to get a release. Kareem McCraney was released last year via the Incarceration Reduction Amendment Act.
McCraney said,
“I stand here to attest to that fact that I no longer engage in criminal activity. I no longer have criminal thoughts. I am no longer under the illusion that I have to live my life in an illegal manner in order to succeed, to have a measure of success.”
