Kanye West Continues His Support For Republican Party: People Wanna Call Me A Coon Because I Chose My Right!
Kanye West continues his support for Republicans. During his latest Sunday Service in Salt Lake City, Utah, he shared his current thoughts on politics and made it clear that he’s not backing down on his support the party.
He first began by pointing out that Abraham Lincoln, who was part of the Republican party is the President who freed slaves. He added,
“That’s the Republican party that freed the slaves. But people wanna call me a coon because I chose my right. We got our own right to our opinions right?”
He went on to say he disagrees with criticism that he shouldn’t support Republicans because he’s Black.
“I ain’t never made a decision only based on my color. That’s a form of slavery, mental slavery.”

While there, he also discussed why he’s not a fan of social media as well as people taking an issue with his former friend Jay-Z teaming up with the NFL for a social injustice initiative.
“Right now, there be people complaining on social media about who said what on the record, or who’s doing what in the NFL. And right now, there is one in three African-Americans in jail in this country. But we’re talking about who’s taking a knee…”
