Summer Walker Shares Texts From Drake Revealing His Favorite Song From Her Debut Album
It’s no secret that the latest R&B and hip-hop hitmakers are under the watchful eye of megastar, Drake. The same applies to R&B singer, Summer Walker. She and the Champagne Papi have been friends since her single, “Girls Need Love,” hit the airwaves – and in typical Drake-fashion, he crashed the song for a remix.
In a recent interview, Summer Walker shared that Drake reached out to her via Instagram Direct Message about the song. She says,
“[I] think he slid into the DMs and was like, ‘I saw your video on a bowling alley monitor. Thought it was cool. And then Justice [League] made me ask him, and he said, ‘Yes.'”
Now that Summer’s debut album, “Over It,” has dropped, Drake is offering more compliments on her work. Her song, “Fun Girl,” reportedly inspired him to write a new song of his own according to their most recent DM conversation. Their conversation read:
“Drake: Fun Girl [mind-blown emojis]
Summer Walker: Thanks lol
Drake: Nah wtf U snapped Just made me write two songs it’s 7:30 am here Album crazy
Summer: Me inspiring you Is crazy”
Summer Walker is also celebrating “Over It” being on the brink of touching the number one spot on Billboard. The album – featuring artists like Bryson Tiller, Jhene Aiko, and Party Next Door – is prjoected to sell/stream 115-125,000 units by Thursday, October 11th.
Congratulations, Summer Walker!
