Summer Walker’s “Over It” Album Becomes Biggest Debut For Female R&B Artists In 10 Years

The R&B newcomer, Summer Walker recently dropped her highly-anticipated debut album ‘Over It,’ on Friday (Oct. 4th). While putting together an impressive 18-track for ‘Over It,’ Summer Walker’s debut included an elite roster of features from Bryson Tiller, Usher, PARTNEXTDOOR, Jhene Aiko, Drake, A. Boogie wit da Hoodie and 6LACK all under the direction of London on Da Track. Fast forward to Sunday (Oct. 13th), the 23-year-old Atlanta native revealed her debut has become the biggest for a female R&B singer in a decade. She writes on her monumental moment on Instagram,

“Wow.. Just found out Over It is the biggest debut album from a female r&b artist in over 10 years and had the biggest streaming week for a female r&b artist ever. Thank y’all so so much for the love & support, y’all got us breaking records and sh*t!!! And special thank u to London On Da Track, Love Renaissance & Interscope, we makin history”

Prior to her release last week, Summer Walker’s debut reached a billion streams worldwide. She thanks fans in an Instagram post writing:

“Wow. A billion before I dropped my first album. Thank you for supporting me.”

In addition to making history on the charts, the singer has inspired one of the top artists to jump in the booth. On the day of her release, Walker revealed her conversation with Grammy award winner, Drake.

As previously reported, Walker recently sat down with singer fellow singer Ari Lennox were the R&B songbirds talked about what they’re over in honor of Walker’s debut album release.
