Colin Kaepernick To Hold Private Workout Arranged By NFL, He Responds: I’ve Been In Shape & Ready For 3 Years!
Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been invited out to a private workout on Saturday (Nov. 12th) in Atlanta, according to reports. Colin Kaepernick took to Twitter to reveal his excitement. He writes,
“I’m just getting word from my representatives that the NFL league office reached out to them about a workout in Atlanta on Saturday. I’ve been in shape and ready for this for 3 years, can’t wait to see the head coaches and GMs on Saturday.”
In the memo, the league says,
“Earlier this year, we discussed some possible steps with his representatives and they recently emphasized his level of preparation and that he is ready to work out for clubs and be interviewed by them. We have therefore arranged this opportunity for him to work out, and for all clubs to have the opportunity to evaluate his current readiness and level of interest in resuming his NFL career.”
The workout will include an on-field workout and an interview. According to reports, teams are seeking a player who is game-day ready.
“Several clubs have inquired about Kaepernick’s current football readiness.”
When questioned on which teams will have access to the former NFL stars workout tape, Kaepernick’s representatives avoided the question saying,
“We can’t tell you that.”
In addition, Kaepernick’s reps question the legitimacy of the workout alluding to a PR stunt by the league, according to ESPN.
Kaepernick has continued to stay sharp on the field throughout his alleged blackballing from being signed. Back in April, Kaepernick was seen in action during rapper Quavo’s “Huncho Day,” were he complete several touchdown passes.
As of now, the ball is in the NFL’s court to submit the list of personnel executives and coaches who will attend on Saturday.
