Karol Sanchez — 16-Year-Old Reportedly Kidnapped While Walking With Her Mother, Incident Caught On Tape
UPDATE: NYPD’s 40th Precinct has announced that Karol Sanchez has been found.
A tweet from the precinct reads,
“**UPDATE** Karol Sanchez has been located in the Bronx, she is safe and unharmed. Great work by the @NYPDnews and all of our federal partners. Thank you to everyone in the community for your assistance.”
Many are spreading the word about Karol Sanchez, a 16-year-old girl who was reportedly kidnapped while walking with her mother in The Bronx Monday night (Dec. 16).
The story is developing, but according to the latest reports, Karol Sanchez and her mother were at Eagle Avenue close to East 156th St., roughly a mile away from Yankee Stadium, around 11:20 p.m. A beige four-dar car allegedly pulled up to the mother and daughter, and two men jumped out of the car and allegedly took the teenager. There were two additional men inside of the car that made its way east on East 156th St., according to police.
Karol Sanchez’s mother was still at the scene and wasn’t hurt.
An Amber Alert was issued Tuesday around 10:45 a.m. (Dec. 17) and described Sanchez as a Black, Hispanic girl, who’s roughly 5 feet, 5 inches, and weighs 150 pounds. She has short black hair and brown eyes and was wearing a blue bubble jacket, a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and black gym shoes. She also had a white backpack.
The alleged suspects are described as four Black men in their 20s who wore dark clothes.
NYPD’s 40th Precinct released a grainy and disturbing video of the incident. It shows the shadows of two women walking down the street when a car pulls up slowly. Two figures jump out and grab one of the women, presumably Sanchez. In the video, her mother appears to try to fight off the men but was unfortunately unsuccessful.
The NYPD is asking anyone with information to come forward.
