Beyonce’s Publicist Shuts Down Rumors She’s Performing In Ghana: This Is NOT True
It turns out Queen Bey won’t be taking the stage in Ghana after all.
Her long-time publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, addressed headlines that Beyonce would be performing in Ghana the weekend of Dec. 28.
She wrote,
“This is not true. Beyoncé is not performing in Ghana this weekend”
She added,
“Just here to deliver the truth. The official truth and nothing but the truth. Beyoncé is nOT performing in Accra, Ghana this weekend. To all you have returned ‘home,’ have the most beautiful time. #onelove”

The clarification comes after reports from Beyonce’s fan pages claimed the singer was hitting the stage in the African country. One page tweeted back in October,
“Beyonce will celebrate Christmas in Ghana this year with her family, according to one journalist she has projects there on December 26, some say it is a special Christmas concert but the journalist declined to reveal what it is about.”
While she’s not performing, there were photos of Beyonce, her husband Grammy-Award winning rapper Jay-Z and their daughter Blue Ivy reportedly landing in Ghana Saturday (Dec. 28). See those here.
According to reports, she’s there to celebrate the Year of Return. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo kicked off the Year of Return in Washington D.C. last September. The year recognizes August 2019 as the 400-year-mark since Africans arrived in the United States as slaves. Since then, celebrities like Boris Kodjoe, Nicole Ari Parker, Idris Elba, Diggy Simmons, and Anthony Anderson have made their way to the country.
