Jay Electronica To Release Long-Awaited Debut In 40 Days, Jay-Z Likes Tweets
It’s been 11 years since rapper Jay Electronica last dazzled fans with his own lead single, so listeners were shocked at his tweets Friday (Feb. 7) Jay Electronica randomly appeared on Twitter to warn that March would be a very special month – the month he finally releases his debut studio album.
He tweeted, revealing that the day after Christmas was no normal holiday recovery day for him:
“Album done…my debut album featuring Hov man this is highway robbery…Recorded over 40 days and 40 nights, starting from Dec 26”
“…Releasing in 40 days…A Written Testimony”
One of his most notable co-signs has come from the hip-hop icon, Jay-Z. He hardly ever uses social media at all, including his own Twitter account! But fans peeped that Hov liked all of Jay Electronica’s tweets regarding his long-awaited album.
Jay-Z, like the rest of us, had been impatiently waiting on his namesake’s album. In 2017, he was spotted jokingly pressuring Jay Electronica to release an album at the Tidal X NOLA event.

Frequent Roc-Nation collaborators – James Fauntleroy and Young Guru – both confirmed that the album is finished.
