Vanessa Bryant Remembers Gianna Bryant On What Would Have Been Her 8th Grade Graduation
Today (June 5), Vanessa Bryant remembers her late daughter Gianna “Gigi “Bryant, on what would have been her 8th grade graduation. Vanessa also has three other daughters ( Natalia Bryant, Capri Bryant, Bianka Bryant), whom she shares with her late husband, Kobe Bryant. In a post, which featured a picture of Gigi’s name surrounded by white flowers, Vanessa Bryant wrote:
Congratulations on your 8th grade graduation Gigi. I love you forever and always. I’m so proud of you. ??, Mommy #classof2020.

Gianna Bryant sadly passed away January 26 alongside her father Kobe Bryant, while traveling to a scrimmage game by his helicopter, when it crashed. Other members and their parent(s) of Mamba Sports Academy were also aboard went the crash took place. According to reports, during their route to the game, the pilot had experienced difficulty seeing because of the fog, that morning. When he tried to elude the fog, he somehow lost control, and crashed in Calabasas, CA.

Since their death, Vanessa Bryant has filed a wrongful death suit (Feb 24) against the company that owned the helicopter that crashed. The lawsuit claimed that the company, Island Express Helicopters, allowed the helicopter to go into the air when conditions were not safe for flying. Bryant also claims that the pilot failed to abort the flight even though he knew of cloudy conditions. According to the lawsuit, Bryant is seeking unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.
