Rayshard Brooks – Officers Who Killed Him, Charged W/ Felony Murder + DA Claims Cops Kicked Him After He Was Shot & Stood On His Shoulders
On June 17, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard announced that warrants have been issued for the officers involved in the death of Rayshard Brooks, a black man who was killed after someone called the police on him for falling asleep in an Atlanta Wendy’s restaurant drive-thru.

Reportedly, former officer Garrett Rolfe was initially fired and subsequently charged with felony murder among 10 other charges, after pulling the trigger and shooting Rayshard Brooks, a father of four, twice in the back. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison or the death penalty.
Today, Fulton County DA commented on the officers after Rayshard Brooks was shot, stating:
Officer Rolfe actually kicked Mr. Brooks while he laid on the ground, while he was there fighting for his life.”

The 2nd officer involved, Devin Brosman, reportedly faces three charges, including aggravated assault for standing on Brooks’ shoulder. The other two charges relate to violations of oath for standing on the shoulder and for failing to render timely medical aid. He faces one to 20 years in prison, according to reports.

This decision comes amid national protest eruptions sparked by the killing of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and more unarmed black men and women who have been killed during the height of racial injustice.
In an emotional press conference for the family of Rayshard Brooks (June 15), their family attorney, Chris Stewart, announced that Tyler Perry will be paying for the funeral. (Watch the full press conference below).
Since the fatal shooting of Brooks, his wife, Tomiko Miller, has spoken out about the injustice. In part, she states,
“If it was my husband who shot them, he would be in jail. He would be doing a life sentence.”
