Tyra Banks Inks New Gig As ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Host & Executive Producer
Tyra Banks is at the top of her game with the announcement of her next television endeavor. The veteran supermodel is set to be the first black female host on the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars.” She will also be the first person to host the competition series solo. She will also serve as an executive producer. Tyra Banks will replace DWTS’ pioneering host, Tom Bergeron, and his co-host, Erin Andrews. Both recently announced their departure from the show.

Tyra Banks – a recent Harvard Business School grad – expressed her excitement on an appearance on “Good Morning America:”
“I am excited about hosting and executive producing – getting in there, live TV, you never know what happens on live TV.”
“It’s nice to be first so you can open that door and let so many people in after you.”

Here’s what she said about conquering several firsts for the dance competition show:
“I like breaking those doors down, so that we don’t have any more firsts. But it’s nice to be first, so that you can open that door and let so many other people in after you – so I’m excited.”
Tyra Banks has been on America’s TV screens for many years – starring alongside Will Smith in episodes of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air;” “America’s Next Top Model;” “America’s Got Talent;” and her own talk show, “The Tyra Banks Show.” But with her help as executive producer, Tyra Banks gave these hints about what’s to come on the next season of “Dancing With the Stars:”
“…[the next season will be] next level…[We’re] still keeping the stuff that we know America loves, [but] you need to get ready because it’s going to be different…I think there’s something like a whip and smize…we need to see who is going to be able to whip and smize!”
Will you be watching Tyra Banks host the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars?”
