The founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, is officially the world’s richest person. According to Forbes, on August 26th Amazon’s stock edged up 2% and Jeff Bezos’s net worth went up by $4.9 billion. Which now means he’s the first person in the entire world to be worth a whopping $204.6 billion.

Forbes estimates that Jeff Bezos is worth about $90 billion more than Bill Gates, who is the world’s second-richest person and currently worth $116.1 billion.

Jeff Bezos’s former wife, MacKenzie Scott, is the world’s 14th-richest person and the 2nd-richest woman. Following their publicized divorce last year, Bezos agreed to give MacKenzie Scott 25% of his Amazon stake, which is now worth $63 billion.
