R. Kelly’s Attorneys Want To Question Gang Member Who Attacked Him In Prison, Requests Early Release From Jail Again

Jeremiah Farmer, a convicted member of the Latin Kings gang, reportedly attacked R. Kelly in prison and now the singer’s attorneys want answers.

According to reports, R. Kelly’s attorneys filed a motion in Federal court to question Jeremiah Farmer.

In a court filing earlier this week, Jeremiah Farmer claimed to have attacked R. Kelly on Aug. 26 because he wanted to shed light on the wrongdoing by the government pertaining to his own case.  He also was reportedly upset over the number of lockdowns in the jail because of R. Kelly supporters protesting for his release outside.

Farmer explained his actions in a hand-written, four page document, and stated the following:

“Farmer, with no where else to turn for legal help, was forced to assault hip-hop R&B singer Robert Kelly in hopes of getting spotlight attention and world news notice to shed light on government corruption here in the Seventh Circuit.”

Reports state that Farmer was able to slip away from an employee at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC), enter a cell where R. Kelly was being housed, and hit the singer in the head multiple times before the attack was stopped by an officer, utilizing pepper spray.

The attack has caused the singer to request an early release from Federal prison pending his trial, yet again.

Kelly had been deemed a danger by a previous trial judge who made the decision to keep the singer locked up pending trial, which Kelly’s attorneys are now trying to reverse.  In a statement made during the court filings, Thomas Farinella argued,

“Mr. Kelly was the victim of an unprovoked attack while incarcerated at the MCC because of who he is. It’s clear the Bureau of Prisons cannot adequately accommodate the need to keep him safe.”
