Claudia Jordan Claims Wine Company Fired Her For Supporting ‘Black Lives Matter’, Files Lawsuit
Claudia Jordan is suing Biagio Cru and Estate Wines for breach of contract after she claims they stopped paying her over her support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
The Out Loud television host reportedly struck a deal with Biagio in 2016 in which she would promote Just Peachy in return for 3 percent ownership of the brand and 3 percent of all the revenue made. The Just Peachy wine campaign kicked off in 2017 and was a huge success, according to Claudia Jordan.
According to Claudia Jordan, Biagio stopped sending her financial statements and money in 2018. She claims that the wine company commented that her support and posts on her social media against police brutality of African Americans were “too slanted”.
However, Biagio claims that they parted ways with the former reality television star for
“legitimate, non-discriminatory reasons; namely, dissatisfaction with Ms. Jordan’s ability to boost sales in relevant markets.”
Claudia Jordan is still pursuing a legal suit against the company for breach of contract. She’s seeking hundreds of thousands in damages.
Biagio Cru states it will
“vigorously defend against the false claims asserted by Ms. Jordan and will pursue any and all appropriate legal actions associated with false and defamatory statements published by Ms. Jordan.”
A cryptic message on Jordan’s Instagram post shares:
“I will always fight for what’s right. Silence allows for the next person to be victimized, used and discarded. You matter, We matter. We are our brother’s keepers.”
