Love Island USA’s Justine & Caleb Are The 1st Black Winners In The Franchise’s History

Love Island USA just wrapped its latest season and for the first time, a black couple has been named the winners.

Because of COVID-19, Love Island USA, a dating reality show, taped its second season in a bubble at The Cromwell Hotel in Las Vegas.

Still, the pandemic didn’t stop winners Justine and Caleb from making history as the first black couple to win int he franchise’s history.

Justine and Caleb navigated throughout the season as their and their fellow islanders’ relationships were put to the test.

After taking the crown as Queen and King or the villa, Caleb thanked America for loving their unapologetically Black love story.  Caleb said,

“I’ve loved this entire experience, Justine I love you.  Our love is genuine, our love is authentic, our love is patient, our love is kind.”

He added,

“There has been a lot of stuff going on in the world around us, and our love is unapologeticlly Black. So thank you America, for loving our love.”

Justine celebrated the win on her Instagram.

“HAPPY CORONATION DAY to the king and queen of our hearts, the villa, and SEASON 2 OF LOVE ISLAND USA!! ?

How you feeling?”

Caleb also took to his Instagram announcing the win.

“Your winners of Love Island!??The King and his Queen ? . So proud of our boy Caleb and thankful for everyone’s support for him and Team Jaleb!?? What an amazing journey this has been to watch ? Caleb is going to be overjoyed to see all the love everyone has shown him and Justine?”

Many social media users also celebrated the win as Love Island USA trended on Twitter.
