Kim Kardashian On Working With Trump To Help Prison Reform: Everyone Said, ‘Don’t You Dare Step Foot In That White House Or Your Reputation Is Done’

Kim Kardashian recently discussed working alongside President Donald Trump to bring changes to the justice system and furthering her work in criminal justice reform during her appearance on David Letterman. They discussed her work with Donald Trump in freeing Alice Johnson who was serving a life sentence for a nonviolent drug offense. Alice served nearly 22 years in prison when her life sentence was commuted by the President.

While David Letterman showed appreciation for the work Kim has been doing, he still expressed his disapproval of Trump. Letterman said,

“I’m grateful for what you’re doing, but it doesn’t make me feel any better about the current administration.”

Kim replied,

“I understand that.— Trust me, everyone called me and said, ‘Don’t you dare step foot in that White House or your reputation is done.’ –I have to step foot in there or these people’s lives don’t have a chance.”

Letterman goes on to say,

“But see, your good work is overwhelming. It’s a positive force that diminishes what I consider to be unacceptable behavior by the president.”

During the interview, Kim Kardashian remained quiet whenever David Letterman would speak of Donald Trump in a negative light. She explains her goal in working with Donald Trump and that she is “extremely grateful” for the administration’s work on criminal justice reform and will “stay focused” on what she can accomplish.

Back in March 2020, Kim Kardashian visited the White House with Alice Johnson, as well as three other woman who received clemency with the help of Donald Trump.

Kim Kardashian has received criticism for working with Donald Trump over recent years, however, she insists that her main goal is to change people’s lives for the better.

“You know I definitely was aware, but for me, any of my issues have always been more about the people and not about the politics. So for me to think that I couldn’t go and speak to the man who has the power to change people’s lives because of some opinions I may have of certain policies and issues to me, felt very self-centered that I was more worried about my reputation than saving someone’s life.”
