Diana Gordon, who co-wrote many of Beyoncé’s songs on her album on Lemonade, says that Beyonce possibly covering the song one day, wouldn’t be hard to get done. Reminding us that Beyoncé, performed “I Will Always Love You” which was made famous by the late Whitney Houston, but written by Dolly Parton.
Dolly Parton says that she performed “I Will Always Love You” and it did well, but when Whitney Houston performed it, it took the song to another level, making it one of the greatest love songs of all time.
“To me, that is really a classic love song. I had a No. 1on it twice, once in the 1970s, then I did it in the movie The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and had another No. 1 in the 1980s. And then Whitney did it and it was considered one of the greatest love songs of all time.”
She added,
“Still to this day I take a lot of pride in that. So I’d tell my younger self, you’re going to end up being very proud of your little old self one day. So just buckle up and be ready for the ride.”
