Snoop Dogg Disagrees With Cardi B’s Hit Song,’WAP’: “Oh My God. Slow Down. Like, Slow Down. And Let’s Have Some Imagination”
It looks like Snoop Dogg isn’t too fond of Cardi B’s hit song, ‘WAP’ featuring Megan Thee Stallion. The 49-year-old rapper recently did an interview with Central Ave where he shared his thoughts on the controversial song. While Snoop Dogg is no stranger to explicit lyrics, he appears to have a change of heart when it comes to certain topics. He expressed that he would like to see more privacy and intimacy. Snoop said,
“Oh my God. Slow down. Like, slow down. And let’s have some imagination. Let’s have some, you know, privacy, some intimacy where he wants to find out as opposed to you telling him.”
He continued,
“To me it’s like, it’s too fashionable when that in secrecy, that should be a woman’s…that’s like your pride and possession. That’s your jewel of the Nile. That’s what you should hold onto. That should be a possession that no one gets to know about until they know about it.”

Snoop Dogg was then asked if he has these type of conversations with his 21-year old daughter. He expressed that his daughter is apart of this new generation and he doesn’t hold it against her for enjoying the music.
“My daughter is from a different era, though,” Snoop added. “She’s from this era. She may be doing the ‘WAP’ or, you know what I’m saying, a part of the ‘WAP,’ but I can’t be mad at her ’cause it’s her generation, you know what I’m saying? But, at the same time, the things that I would rather see, you know, ’cause I’ma older man.”

Snoop Dogg’s recent opinions on Cardi B’s ‘WAP’ came as a surprise to many since the legendary rapper has been in the music industry for almost 30 years and is known for having explicit lyrics in his music. Some fans took to social media to express their shock, some fans calling Snoop Dogg a hypocrite.

Later in the interview, Snoop acknowledged that because he’s older now, he see’s things in a different way and just wants younger woman to know their worth.
“Now, when I was young, 21, 22, I may have been with the movement. I probably would have been on the remix. But as an older man, I love it, that they are expressing themselves and doing their thing. I just don’t want it that fashionable to where young girls express themselves like that without even knowing that that is a jewel that they hold onto until the right person comes around.”
