Denzel Washington Says He Told Chadwick Boseman To Marry His Wife Simone Ledward After Seeing Her Care For Him On Set
Legendary actor Denzel Washington, 65, says that he was a witness to Chadwick Boseman and his wife Taylor Simone Ledward’s love.
In a recent interview, Denzel Washington told the story of how he told Chadwick Boseman he should marry Simone Ledward after he watched her care for him on the set of Netflix film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
Denzel Washington spoke on how no one knew Chadwick Boseman was privately battling cancer.
“It’s fascinating that nobody knew. Well, credit to him; he kept it to himself. It was nobody’s business. He was there to deliver and he delivered.”

Denzel Washington added that he noticed how Simone Ledward, who wasn’t married to Chadwick at the time catered to him.
“Certain members of his team knew. His wife was there. They weren’t even married yet.”
He added that he told Chadwick Boseman he should marry her.
“I used to watch how she took care of him, and I actually said to him, I said, ‘Man, you know, you need to put a ring on that finger,’ cause she kept her eye on him and she watched him. And I’m like, ‘Man, she loves that guy.’ You know, but I didn’t know what we know now.”
The two later married before Chadwick Boseman tragically passed away in August.
