Big Sean Hired As Detroit Pistons’ Creative Director Of Innovation

Detroit rapper Big Sean just added a new job to his resume.

The Detroit Pistons announced this week that the rapper would be coming on board as the team’s Creative Director of Innovation.  The team released the news just hours before kicking off the season against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The 32-year-old rapper has two mixtapes and an album that all pay tribute to his hometown of Detroit, and the team seems to be very excited to have him in the new role.  The Detroit Pistons said in a statement that Big Sean, whose real name is Sean Anderson,

“will provide creative counsel and strategic guidance on a variety of Pistons’ off-the-court initiatives, including team merchandise design, in-game experience, co-branded community, and social responsibility activation, and more.”

Big Sean’s “Don Life” logo will also appear on the front of the players’ jerseys. Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores said in a press release,

He took to Instagram Live on Thursday night (September 3rd) to share the release of the long-awaited album. Big Sean was seen holding back tears while sharing the good news.

“It’s been a long time coming for sure. I put my first album out almost 10 years ago so… I just wanna say I appreciate it.”

The 21- track album has big collaborations including, Lil Wayne, Travis Scott, Eminem, Justin Bieber, Post Malone, the late Nipsey Hussle, and more. It also includes three songs titled “Story,” which feature comedian/actor Dave Chappelle, singer Erykah Badu, and music legend Stevie Wonder.

Ahead of its release, Big Sean was very active on Twitter to promote his new project, interact with fans, and assure them that he put time and effort into his new album.
