Late actor Tommy Lister Reportedly Changed His Middle Name To ‘Debo’ Before His Passing
Late actor Tommy ‘Tiny’ Lister paid homage to his famous character ‘Deebo’ before his passing. As we previously reported, American actor Tommy Lister, sadly, passed away last month on December 10th. The 62-year-old entertainer was known by many for his infamous role as the neighborhood bully ‘Deebo’ in the 1995 film Friday and the film’s sequel that released in 2000. According to TMZ, before he died, Tommy Lister legally changed his middle name to his character’s name from the cult classic film.

According to reports, on his official death certificate his full name reads ‘Tommy Debo Lister’ instead of his reported birth name which was ‘Thomas Duane Lister Jr.’. It’s unclear why Tommy Lister decided to change the spelling of the name ‘Deebo’ when making his name switch. However, the actor’s manager, Cindy Cowan, did say that he made the name change in an L.A. court about 6 months ago because most of his fans knew him as ‘Deebo’.
Tommy Lister’s cause of death still hasn’t been confirmed, but it was speculated that before he died he was afraid he contracted COVID-19 again. His loved ones reportedly believe the actor did pass away from the coronavirus.
