Gabrielle Union Says Older Stepsons Get Teased Over Her Sex Scenes: Everyone Will Just Adjust

Actress Gabrielle Union sat down with former NBA star Jalen Rose for his “Renaissance Man” podcast and talked about her baller husband Dwyane Wade, motherhood, and step-motherhood, as well as her family’s thoughts on her sex scenes in movies and TV shows.

Gabrielle Union, who is married to retired NBA star Dwyane Wade, spoke on how he handles her being in sex scenes on screen.

“He’ll ask before each episode: ‘Are you naked in this one?’ Sometimes I forget, because we shot this stuff a year ago.  And we’ll sit there with the whole family, popcorn, and he’s like …”

She admitted she had her own experience with jealousy when he appeared in What To Expect When You’re Expecting and performed a ballroom dance.

“I was like, ‘What is this, pasodoble?’ … I know I couldn’t do it. God bless, he is better than me.”

The actress is also mother to 2-year-old Kaavia Wade, and stepmom to Dwyane Wade’s three children from his former marriage: Zaire, 18, Zaya, 13, and Xavier, 7.  She says that the older boys get teased at school when she does a sex scene in a movie.

“The older boys were like, ‘I am getting murdered at school,’ like with the sex scenes and all that.”

But she adds that she’ll flaunt it as long as she’s got it and,

“Everyone will just adjust.”

She also talks about being open with personal issues like their daughter Zaya, being transgender, Dwyane Wade’s mother’s past issues with drugs as well as his ex-wife’s challenges, and how they continue to roll with the punches that come their way.

“We just try to lead with love and transparency and people rock with us … We still screw up and we just lead with that. You aren’t going to be able to tell me or him nothing about us that we haven’t already told you first.”

She also says that the family goes to therapy every week.

“That was one of the first things he did, was start going religiously every week. So as a family, we’re just really big on therapy.”
