Ashanti Reveals She Snuck In The Hospital After Her Mother Was Diagnosed With COVID-19: I Was Going Crazy
While Ashanti had her own battle with COVID-19 recently, her mother also tested positive and was hospitalized.

Ashanti, whose coronavirus diagnosis initially postponed the Verzuz battle with Keyshia Cole, said while on Ebro In The Morning:
“I got tested as a precaution. I know I don’t have it, so I’m just doing this as a solid for them, so I can get on the plane. So the plane was ready, bags were packed, my stylist was at my house, we were doing fitting … So when I got the results, I was like, ‘Me? Are you sure this is mine?’ I was stunned.”
She added that even though her symptoms like the sniffles and losing her sense of taste were mild, her mother’s bout with COVID-19 was much more serious.
“… My mom actually got it really bad. She was in the hospital for five days … Oh my gosh, y’all, I was going crazy. I snuck in the hospital; they had to kick me out. It was bad.”
Ashanti tested positive for COVID-19 after a trip to Africa but insisted that she didn’t get the virus from traveling. Instead, she said she contracted it from a family member.
It’s not clear if Ashanti passed COVID-19 to her mother. Fortunately, she and her parents recovered.
