Oprah Says ‘Nothing Is Off Limits’ In First Look Of Sit Down With Prince Harry & Meghan Markle
In true Oprah Winfrey fashion, she’s not holding back in her highly anticipated interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
A first look at the sit down was released Sunday, Feb. 28th, and the media mogul asks Meghan Markle in a clip,
“Were you silent or were you silenced?”
She also told Meghan Markle, who’s pregnant with her and Prince Harry’s second child,
“I just want to make it clear to everybody there is no subject that’s off-limits.”
Oprah also told the couple, who are her neighbors in California’s Montecito community,
“You’ve said some pretty shocking things here.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sat down with Oprah together and separately for the special.
Prince Harry spoke on the couple’s fight against British tabloids and said he was concerned that history could “repeat itself” as it relates to his mother, Princess Diana’s death. She died after suffering injuries in a car crash in 1997. There’s speculation that she was fleeing from paparazzi.
Prince Harry said of the criticism his mother used to receive,
“You know, for me, I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here, talking to you with my wife by my side because I can’t begin to imagine what it must’ve been like for her going through this process by herself all those years ago.”
He added,
“Because it has been unbelievably tough for the two of us, but at least we have each other.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made headlines when they left their royal family duties and moved to Los Angeles last year. Prince Harry opened up about the exit and said he did so because British tabloids were damaging his mental health. They also confirmed with Buckingham Palace that the decision is a permanent one as they won’t be returning to their duties.
