Oprah Says ‘Conversations’ & ‘Concerns’ About Archie’s Skin Color Did NOT Come From Queen Elizabeth Or Prince Philip

In a conversation with CBS This Morning about her sit down with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Oprah Winfrey told Gayle King Monday (March 8th), that Prince Harry revealed it was not Queen Elizabeth or Prince Philip who made racist comments about son Archie.

She said,

“He did not share the identity with me, but he wanted to make sure I knew and if I had the opportunity to share it that it was not his grandmother [Queen Elizabeth] nor his grandfather [Prince Philip] that were a part of those conversations.”

She added of the conversation,

“…There are, as Harry indicated, there are people surrounding the family who are advisers to the family, who have been there for a long time, and that’s a part of the hierarchal structure. And those people have a lot of influence and also input.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s telling interview with Oprah Winfrey revealed lots of details about their life together in the palace.

They exposed alleged racism among the royal family when Meghan Markle said some were concerned about her and Prince Harry’s son Archie’s skin color.

When speaking on why the Royals didn’t want to make Archie a prince, Oprah Winfrey asked if it had anything to do with his race as Meghan Markle is biracial (her mother is black and her father is white). She said,

“I can give you an honest answer. In those months when I was pregnant, all around the same time – we had in tandem the conversation of ‘He’s not gonna be given security, he’s not gonna be given a title’, and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”

She continued,

“There were several conversations about it [with me] and Harry…and what that would mean or look like.”

When asked who, Meghan Markle said,

“I think that would be very damaging to them.”
