Meghan Markle Reportedly Considering U.S. Presidential Bid in 2024, Currently Networking With Democrats
Meghan Markle may be running for the 2024 U.S. Presidential Candidacy if President Biden decides against running for a second term. Markle has reportedly already began networking with senior Democrats to build a campaign and fundraising team in hopes of having a shot at making it to the White House. Reportedly, Meghan Markle has previously expressed her political ambitions to those close to her. Last year, a friend of the Duchess told Vanity Fair magazine that one of the reasons Markle did not give up her American citizenship when she married into the Royal Family was to ensure she would still have the option of entering U.S. politics.

While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle haven’t spoken too much about American politics, During the U.S. 2020 election, the Duchess urged voters to “reject hate speech”, a seemingly direct critique of President Donald Trump. Her comment led to Trump speaking out, claiming he was “not a fan” of Meghan.

US constitutional experts say that Meghan Markle would have to renounce her title if she wanted to hold public office in the United States, because it would cut across the US oath of allegiance. If Markle were to run and win the presidential election, she would be the first female US President.
