Dwyane Wade’s Daughter Zaya Wade Posts Stunning New Photos, Wearing Short Natural Red Hair

Dwyane Wade’s 13-year-old daughter Zaya Wade has released a new series of stunning photos. Wearing her hair in a short, red natural afro, she wore a sleeveless white cut-out top, pairing the waist-up shoot with a pair of gold frames.

Zaya’s father former NBA star Dwyane Wade and stepmother actress Gabrielle Union have both spoken openly about how their daughter identifies her gender.

Last year, Dwyane Wade shared that Zaya knew since she was 3 years old that she was transgender. He said during an interview,

“Zaya has known it for nine years.”

When asked if he knew early on that Zaya, who was assigned male at birth, identified as a transgender girl, Wade responded:

“I knew early on that I had to check myself. … I’ve been a person in the locker room that has been a part of the conversation that has said the wrong phrases and the wrong words myself. My daughter was my first interaction when it comes to having to deal with this conversation. Hopefully I’m dealing with it the right way. … Inside our home we see the smile on my daughter’s face, we see the confidence that she’s able to walk around and be herself and that’s when you know you’re doing right.”
