Ellen DeGeneres Seemingly Confesses To Driving Wife To The Hospital While High

Ellen DeGeneres has found herself in the hot seat again for allegedly driving her wife, Portia de Rossi, to the hospital while high. On Tuesday (April 20th) During a marijuana-themed episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! Ellen DeGeneres seemingly confessed to getting behind the wheel after drinking three “weed drinks” and taking an over-the-counter sleeping aid. While talking with Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen shared a story about the time she found her wife of almost 13 years in pain on their bathroom floor. According to Ellen, she discovered her wife after she’d already consumed three cannabis-infused beverages and melatonin (a sleeping aid). However, Ellen still drove Portia to her hospital where she had an emergency appendectomy.

She said,

“Chelsea Handler told me about these weed drinks, they’re called Cann, and they have CBD or [THC] — I don’t know what the good thing is,”

“I drank one, and I didn’t feel anything, so I drank three, and then I took two melatonin sleep pills.”

She continued,

“And I’m laying in bed, and I realize [Portia’s] not in bed. She’s moaning. I get out of bed, and she’s on the ground on all fours, and I said, ‘You’re not OK.’ She goes, ‘I’m OK.’ I said, ‘No, unless you’re playing Twister by yourself, you’re not OK.’ So I rushed her to the emergency room.”

Jimmy Kimmel asked Ellen if she was the person who drove her wife to the hospital and she replied,

“I did. I mean, I kicked in, like my adrenaline, because I just had to rush her there. It’s probably not safe.”

She added,

“I shouldn’t be saying any of this.”

It’s unclear if Ellen DeGeneres was joking or not. However, according to the company that produces Cann drinks their line of cannabis-infused beverages can range in potency from a mix of 2 milligrams of THC combined with 4 milligrams of CBD to 5 milligrams of solely THC.
