Jen Shah’s Cousin Creates GoFundMe To Raise $2.5 Million For Her Legal Fees, Gets Shut Down After Raising $255

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah has been dealing with legal troubles, and her cousin is being called out for requesting donations to cover her fees!

As previously reported, Jen Shah was accused of wire fraud and money laundering earlier this year. These charges are reportedly in connection with a supposed telemarketing scam in which she was involved. She is accused of stealing from hundreds of victims. She pleaded not guilty in early April.

Now, Jen Shah‘s cousin is getting some heat for creating a GoFundMe to help cover the RHOSLC star’s legal expenses. Danny Filipe recently shared a GoFundMe page to his social media accounts with the goal of raising $2.5 million to support “Justice for Jen Shah.” After giving a run-down of the situation and proclaiming her innocence, Danny Filipe wrote:

“We are asking 10,000 caring souls to donate $250. Jen is facing decades incarcerated in prison separated from her family if she is unable to mount a competent and well-thought-out defense.”

The GoFundMe page was up for less than 24 hours before being taken down by the site. Regarding this, a GoFundMe spokeswoman told The Sun:

“I can confirm the fundraiser violates our Terms of Service. The fundraiser has been removed from the platform and all donors were refunded.”

It reportedly raised only $255 of its $2.5 million goal.
