Candiace Dillard Says ‘RHOP’ Co-Star Ashley Darby Doesn’t Get As Much Hate From Fans ‘Because She’s Light-Skinned’: There, I Said It

Candiace Dillard has a theory on why she’s often a target for internet trolls but her The Real Housewives of Potomac co-star Ashley Darby might not be.

She commented on an Instagram post from @alltruetea that featured a nearly 15-minute throwback reel of some of the most iconic moments on the series, including a heated moment between her and Ashley Darby that dates back to season four.

One fan wrote,

“This reel shows how reckless Ashley’s mouth has been and still is. Yet Candiace was the villain and ganged up on by so many fans. It’s crazy how Ashley was in my opinion worse but people want to ignore that. I wonder why????”

Candiace Dillard answered,

“Because she’s light skinned. There. It was said. I said it. Now, let’s see how fast it gets around.”

She received mixed reactions as some fans agreed with her while others made it clear they didn’t.

Ashley Darby and Candiace Dillard appeared to be friends on the show until a falling out in season four when Candiace questioned Ashley’s desire to have a child.

While the ladies appeared to settle their issues in the recent fifth season, with Candiace offering an apology, things went left again after Ashley told Candiace she was writing a character statement in favor of Monique Samuels, who got into a physical altercation with Candiace last season.
