Nicole Ari Parker Confirmed As Cast Member On ‘Sex And The City’ Reboot
Suspicions of Nicole Ari Parker joining the cast of the Sex And The City reboot have been confirmed.
Rumors of her being on the show, called And Just Like That, sparked after she was spotted filming with cast members earlier this week.
Now, it’s been confirmed that she is officially a part of the HBO Max series. Her character, Lisa Todd Wexley, is a mom of three from Park Avenue. She also works as a documentarian, according to reports.
Sarita Choudhury and Karen Pittman are also joining the cast.
Sarita Choudhury is slated to portray Seema Patel, a single, Manhattan real estate broker. Karen Pittman landed the role as Dr. Nya Wallace, a Columbia University law professor.
The announcement comes after the president of HBO Programming, Casey Bloys, revealed three women of color would be on the show amid calls for diversity.
Executive Producer Michael King said of the additions,
“Everyone at And Just Like That… is thrilled to have these amazing and vibrant actors join the ‘Sex and the City’ family. Each of them will add their unique spark and big heart to these new characters and the stories we are about to tell.”
A synopsis for the show, which features 10 half-hour episodes, reads,
“This new chapter of the groundbreaking HBO series “Sex and the City” follows Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.”
