2 Atlanta Police Officers Suspended After Viral Video Shows One Kicking A Black, Handcuffed Woman In The Face As The Other Looks On [WATCH]
A couple of Atlanta police officers are in hot water after a disturbing video went viral.
Recently, Atlanta police officers responded to a domestic disturbance call in the city’s Summerhill neighborhood. However, the Instagram page @atluncensored leaked video footage yesterday (Monday, July 26th) showing one of the responding officers kicking a handcuffed woman. Specifically, a sergeant–who is Black–kicked the handcuffed Black woman while she was lying on the ground. It appears as though the handcuffed woman was attempting to spit on the officer’s pants, and the officer instantly responded by kicking her in the face.
As this went down, a female officer–who appears to be white–looked on.

After the video went viral, the sergeant who kicked the handcuffed woman was suspended without pay. Additionally, the female officer who looked on is under investigation and was placed on administrative assignment. The Atlanta Police Department also issued a statement on the matter, reading in part:
“The actions of the sergeant appear to be unacceptable, and we are also concerned with the apparent lack of reaction from another officer… The decision was made to immediately remove both employees from duty.”
It is also worth noting that the handcuffed woman was ultimately not charged with anything.
