NBA Star Kyrie Irving Fires Roc Nation
Kyrie Irving Fires Roc Nation Day After Angry Nike Rant
NBA star Kyrie Irving has parted ways with Roc Nation, according to ESPN.
The Brooklyn Nets point guard signed with Roc Nation in 2019.
According to the NY Post, Brooklyn general manager Sean Marks is expected to attempt to extend Irving, as well as Kevin Durant and James Harden, with free agency tipping off Monday at 6 p.m.
Irving has off-court deals as well, including an $11 million contract with Nike that is one of the biggest sneaker deals in the NBA. However, earlier today he blasted his upcoming Kyrie8 shoe on social media.
He wrote,
“I have nothing to do with the design or marketing of the upcoming Kyrie 8 IMO these are trash! I have absolutely nothing to do with them! Nike plans to release it without my okay regardless of what I say, so I apologize in advance to all of my sneaker heads and true supporters of the #KAI11 brand.”
There are no details as to why Kyrie is leaving Roc Nation Sports.
