Damon Wayans Claims He Would Go Head-To-Head Against Dave Chappelle In A Comedy-Based Verzuz Battle: I’m Calling Him Out
Could we soon get a comedy-focused Verzuz battle with Damon Wayans and Dave Chappelle?
Earlier today (Friday, Aug. 13th), Damon Wayans appeared on 97.9 The Box, a morning radio show based out of Houston, Texas. During his sit-down on the show, the hosts proceeded to inquire whether or not the comedian was familiar with Verzuz, where artists go head-to-head in a virtual concert and sing-off. It rose to prominence in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, and numerous stars have squared off against each other since Verzuz’s inception.
However, while many people have become fans of Verzuz by this point, Damon Wayans apparently never tuned in to any Verzuz battles! After claiming he had never seen Verzuz, Damon Wayans proceeded to ask:
“Do they do [Verzuz battles] with comedians?”
His question seemed to spark the interest of the radio hosts, and they proceeded to inquire about who Damon Wayans would like to go head-to-head with in a Verzuz battle focused on comedy. In response, he immediately stated:
“Chappelle. I’m calling him out.”
