DaBaby Laughs Off Being Canceled In Freestyle To BIA’s ‘Whole Lotta Money’: N***as Think I’m Somewhere Crying W/ Tissue

DaBaby is having one crazy summer after many fans canceled him for his controversial remarks against the LGBTQ+ community.

The 29-year-old rapper has now decided to channel his energy into addressing the backlash on his own freestyle of BIA’s smash hit, “Whole Lotta Money”.

The rapper addresses his “cancellation” in the first 30 seconds of the song and raps,

“N****s think I’m somewhere crying with tissue.”

He went on to mention his success over the years, adding:

“Really can afford to quit doin’ this s*** right now
When I’m done havin’ fun, I’m chillin’
2019, I went bought a nine-acre estate
2020, made twenty-two million
N****s gotta be kiddin’ (What you do?)”

According to his freestyle, it appears that DaBaby is unbothered by the recent backlash as he suggests he is set for life.

“Too bad I already made my investments
Cry me a river, I’m over here laughin’ “

The full video has garnered nearly 2 million views on YouTube in its first 24 hours.

The Charlotte rapper faced backlash after clips of his Rolling Loud Music Festival performance made their way to the internet. He said during the July 26 event,

“If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cell phone lighter up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d–k in the parking lot, put your cell phone lighter up!”

As his remarks made their way around the internet, people criticized the rapper’s comments, causing him to respond on Twitter.

Within days, many events like Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and the Governors’ Ball announced their decision to cut ties with DaBaby and remove him from their lineups. A host of celebrities also chimed in to educate the rapper about HIV/AIDS and the LGBTQ community, including pop star Madonna, who shared a video of his comments with the caption:

“If you’re going to make hateful remarks to the LGBTQ+ community about HIV/AIDS then know your facts: After decades of hard won scientific research— there are life saving medicines available to children born with HIV, to people who contract HIV through blood transfusions, dirty needles or exchange of bodily fluids…I want to put my cellphone lighter up and pray for your ignorance.”

DaBaby eventually apologized to the LGBTQ community earlier this month but deleted his message days later.

Weeks after the now-deleted apology, DaBaby performed at the HOT 97 Summer Bash over the weekend (Sunday, Aug. 22). The rapper called his critics “crybabies” as he thanked fans and Hot 97 for the support. He briefly stated,

“[Hot 97] allowed me to share my gift, share my blessing with y’all out here live on this stage amongst all the chaos and all the backlash. So hats off to y’all for that… They accepted my sincerity and all my apologies when I said I never, ever meant to offend anybody or say anything to make anybody feel any type of way live on that stage a few weeks ago.”
