Drake Shares Encouraging Note His Mother Sent Him Ahead Of The Release Of ‘Certified Lover Boy’: You’re Nothing Like The Rest

As Drake prepares to drop Certified Lover Boy, he received some encouraging words from his mother!

Yesterday (Tuesday, Aug. 31st), Drake shared a note his mother wrote him ahead of Certified Lover Boy‘s release. The singer shared the heartfelt note on his Instagram Story, and it said:

“To: Lover Boy

Three days more we’re counting down, for us to hear the best. Everyone’s excited, cause you’re nothing like the rest. Three more days my pookaroo, I couldn’t be more proud of you.

Loving Mom.”

As Drake‘s mother mentioned, her note came just a few days ahead of Certified Lover Boy‘s drop date. This past Monday (Aug. 30th), Drake uploaded an image of twelve pregnancy emojis to announce his album’s upcoming release, captioning the photo:

“CERTIFIED LOVER BOY SEPTEMBER 3.”

It is also worth noting that Drake‘s mother’s message comes shortly after he and Kanye West seemingly reignited their longstanding feud. About two weeks ago, Trippie Redd released his new album, Trip at Knight, and his collaboration with Drake appeared to contain a Kanye West diss. During his verse on “Betrayal,” Drake raps:

“Forty-five, forty-four, let it go. Ye ain’t changing s**t for me.”

Shortly thereafter, Kanye West seemingly addressed Drake within a group chat, writing:

“I live for this. I’ve been f**ked with by nerd a** jock n***as like you my whole life. You will never recover. I promise you.”

He also appeared to leak Drake‘s address on Instagram.

Certified Lover Boy drops this Friday (Sept. 3rd).
