Terry Crews On ‘The Best Thing About Not Being Invited To The Cookout’: You Never Drank The Kool-Aid
Terry Crews is clarifying his claim that he’s not “invited to the cookout.”
On Wednesday (Sept. 1), actor and “America’s Got Talent” host tweeted,
“The best thing about being uninvited to the cookout…is you never drank the koolaid.”
Followers quickly commented on the tweet, particularly the phrase “invited to the cookout,” which, as defined by UrbanDictionary.com means:
“Being Invited by another African American after proving some sort of interest, love, and concern for the black community.”
Finding himself trending again, Crews came back to Twitter to clarify and said his tweet was actually a reference to the new Expendables film, to which he was not invited to return.
He responded to a critic who called out the tweet and wrote,
“What are you talking about? I Have plenty of Black friends. My tweet was my response to not being invited back to the Expendables, although I wish them well.”

This isn’t the first time Terry Crews has undergone criticism for his remarks on social media.
Last July, Terry Crews, received backlash for his comments on Black Lives Matter, after tweeting,
“If you are a child of God, you are my brother and sister. I have family of every race, creed and ideology. We must ensure #blacklivesmatter doesn’t morph into #blacklivesbetter.”

Following the criticism, Crews went on Don Lemon’s show to defend his comments, which led to the two having a heated debate.
