Simone Biles Tells Critics ‘I Can’t Hear You Over My 7 Olympic Medals’ While Reflecting On Tokyo Olympics
Simone Biles wants fans to put some respect on her name.
In a recent Instagram post, Biles reflected on this year’s Olympics and her many accomplishments so far.

With an added photo of her medals, Simone Biles wrote,
“Can’t believe it’s already been a month. Definitely not the way I planned the olympics going but I wouldn’t change anything for the world. I’m proud of myself and the career I’ve had thus far.”

She continued,
“This olympics doesn’t erase the past accomplishments I’ve achieved nor does it define who I am as an athlete. I’ve pushed through so much the past couple years, the word quitter is not in my vocabulary. For some of you that may be how you define me but keep talking because I can’t hear you over my 7 olympic medals which tied me for the most decorated gymnast EVER as well as most decorated American gymnast.”
Back in July 2021, Simone Biles withdrew from the Individual All-Around Finals during the Tokyo Olympics, which came after she withdrew herself from the team final.

She later competed at the balance beam final and won a bronze medal.

Biles later explained that she backed out of the first events to focus on her mental health but followers of the competition quickly flooded social media calling her a ‘quitter’ and “sore loser’ for not participating in all of the events.
Setting the record straight, the gymnast told fans during a Q&A on Instagram,
“I didn’t have a bad performance & quit. I’ve had plenty of bad performances throughout my career and finished the competition. I simply got so lost my safety was at risk as well as a team medal. For anyone saying I quit. I didn’t quit my mind & body are simply not in sync.”

In addition to her medals, the champion is also celebrating being in love.
In August, Biles and her boyfriend, NFL player Jonathan Owens, celebrated their one-year anniversary.

Speaking on her boo and his career, Simone said,
“I love watching him play because he has such a passion. He works so hard, so for him to be able to showcase that on the field is really exciting.”
