Keke Palmer Says She ‘Just Has Different Taste Buds’ As She Apologizes To Met Gala Chef: Sorry To This Man

Keke Palmer just wanted a little more than fashion at the Met Gala.

While attending the Met Gala on Sept. 13, 2021, Keke Palmer shared a not-so-flattering photo of the food served during the lavish event. Now, Chef Marcus Samuelsson, who is behind the menu created for this year’s Met Gala, is defending the food served at fashion’s biggest event.

In partnership with Bon Appétit, Samuelsson says he selected 10 up-and-coming New York chefs to deliver a ‘sustainable, plant-based’ menu, which is why there were only veggies shown in the photo.

Samuelsson added that the picture posted by Palmer was in fact some of the food that was served during the three-course meal at the $30,000-$50,000 party.

The chef also added that Palmer’s plate, which was the main course, was barely covered with the veggies that included roasted mushrooms, and tomato salad with corn and zucchini slices.

Chef Marcus Samuelsson continued to defend the menu and says like anything, food is a matter of taste and wants everyone to know it tasted ‘plenty good.’

Responding to a fan, Keke Palmer apologized to the chef on Twitter writing,

“I just have different taste buds! I love this Chef, sorry to this man.”

Still, Palmer was not the only one who trended for her response to the food. Teyana Taylor jokingly asked to go home after being told the menu was plant-based.
