Nick Cannon Seemingly Suggests He Wants To Have A Baby W/ Saweetie + Later Clarifies His Statement: It Was All In Good Fun!

Is Nick Cannon trying to add Saweetie to his list of baby mamas?

This past Saturday (Nov. 6th), Saweetie (real name Diamonté Harper) revealed that she has baby fever on social media, tweeting:

“I want some babies.”

A few hours later, Nick Cannon appeared to express interest in the matter, quote tweeting Saweetie and adding various emojis.

The bulk of the humor from this interaction comes from the fact that Nick Cannon has seven children by four women. Notably, four of the babies were both within a six-month period! Nick welcomed his first children, twins Moroccan and Monroe, back in 2011 with ex-wife Mariah Carey.

He also has two children with model Brittany Bell: Golden and Powerful, who were respectively born in 2017 and Feb. 2021.

A few months later, Nick Cannon welcomed twins Zion and Zillion with DJ Abby De La Rosa.

He then welcomed his seventh child–Zen–with model Alyssa Scott less than two weeks later.

Shortly after his tweet went viral, Nick Cannon addressed the matter on his talk show. He stated:

“I think I’m very misunderstood! Saweetie tweeted ‘I want some babies,’ and I just replied with some emojis as an expert in babies! If anybody who can speak emoji knows what that says, what y’all think that say right there?”

An audience member then humorously responded:

“He ready!”

Nick replied:

“No! That’s not what I was trying to say–you gotta take time to break it down! This is what it actually says: Take time for making such a big decision. That’s what I was only trying to say!”

He then proceeded to laugh at various Twitter users’ jabs at him over the matter, and Nick Cannon later ended his commentary by saying:

“Shout out to Saweetie, it was all in fun–no disrespect! If she ready to have kids, get to it queen–we rocking with you! Tap in, you know what your type is!”
