Keyshia Cole responded to a fan account who tweeted her,
I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your father!!Broken heartBroken heart I’m praying for you and your family during this difficult time!!
She responded, writing back:

No further details about her dad’s passing has been shared.
This sad news, comes amidst Keyshia’s mother Frankie Lons recently passed.
Frankie Lons passed away on (July 19, 2021) on her 61st birthday. Her cause of death was announced as an overdose.
