Plies Shares His Opinion On Equality & Says ‘We Live In A Country That Never Really Had An Appetite For Equality’
Plies took to social media to share his thoughts on the current state of the country. On a social media post, the Real Hitta rapper speaks about the way the laws in America were never intended to help black people. He starts off saying,
“I just had this conversation with somebody. I said ‘man we living in 2021 by the majority laws that was written in the 1800s when slavery was the focal point. So it’s impossible for someone to get me to believe that laws written at that time were written to be fair to everybody.”
Plies continues and says,
“I know people say ‘oh if you want things to change you need to vote at the local level.’ I’m not saying there’s not some truth in that but what I am saying is we live in a country that never really had an appetite for equality in this country anyway so right now 2021 you know what we call being patriotic in this country? When you are fighting for privilege….when you fighting for privilege this country deems you as being patriotic. When you fighting for equality this country deems you a villain.”

He goes on to say,
“Regardless of who wants to agree with that or not agree with it… I’m telling you my personal opinion of sitting back and watching the landscape. The only time you’re deemed as being a patron for this country is when you’re fighting for privilege. And it’s no different right now if I said to myself they’re not letting white folks in FAMU to get that great pharmacy degree.. If I sat back and say ‘hmm.. that ain’t right but that ain’t got nothing to do with me that’s they problem.. if they want to change that then they need to go vote.’ That would speak volumes of my character in my opinion.”

He also responded to a social media user that wrote:
“Plies sitting on millions talking about inequality.”
Plies responded with:
“Whats different about me is I’m not one of the people who did well for themselves and feel everyone else should have to figure it out on they own like I had to do. I believe you tryin to stand on the side of right regardless of your situation is what makes you a morally right person. I’m just tryin leave this place better than I found it! God Bless!!!”
