Lamar Odom Fires Back At Ex-Fianceé Sabrina Parr’s Book Announcement: The Relationship Was Abusive
Lamar Odom didn’t hold back in his latest Instagram post.
Former basketball star Lamar Odom clearly didn’t agree with his ex-fianceé Sabrina Parr’s version of events regarding their split. In a lengthy Instagram post that appeared to address Sabrina Parr’s post about leaving him last year, he wrote:
“A year ago yesterday I left my ex fiance’ at the W Hotel in Atlanta without notice. When she realized I was gone back to my home in San Diego she was livid. I received over 250 calls and text messages over the course of last December from her wanting to fix us. We were toxic. Independently and collectively.”
He continued:
“Leaving broke my heart but saved my soul. The relationship was abusive.
Many times I wanted to go back because-the dysfunction in me was addicted to the abuse. The addict in me hated being alone, the man in me wanted a pretty face to wake up to, it was hard. Late nights and early mornings alone wears on a brother. I sought solace in marijuana and a slew of random women, not loving any of them, not really wanting to be with any of them, but it beat being lonely.”
He added:
“One day, my soul opened up, light bulb went off and I wanted and needed to change for ME! My team had worked hard to get me a fresh start. I had to honor that.
He concluded:
“Today, I am free. Drug free. Marijuana free. Relationship free. I am rebuilding a relationship with myself. With my family. I am focused on my faith. My growth. My brand. I am a legend. I own that. I am a recovering addict. I own that too. Stand in your truth. Do not believe everything you read. Luckily my team keeps record of EVERYTHING so I am reminded of how far I have come. I have not arrived yet. I will not let troubled exes from my past haunt me. I will stand in my truth. I owe that to myself and whomever God places next in my life.”

The caption followed the same style and format that Sabrina Parr used in her caption to promote her new book yesterday (Dec. 8). Sabrina’s book The Freedom In Walking Away will recount her decision to leave Lamar. Per Sabrina’s website:
“My very first hard copy book! In this book, I break the silence on my last relationship, talk about my health issues, discuss several situations in my life that I had to walk away from and so much more! I wrote this book in hopes of you learning how to regain your life, put the pieces back together and find your peace.”

Sabrina seemingly responded to Lamar’s conflicting post on her Instagram story:
“Every story I have or will ever tell is true! Anything you read in my book will be the truth! I’m willing to take a polygraph test to clear my name!!!”

Lamar and Sabrina announced their engagement in Nov. 2019. By the following Nov., the two had called their engagement off. They’ve had multiple public spats following their breakup.
