He acknowledges that guest hosts have been filling in during Wendy’s absence,
I know that you’re weighing in on the hosts that are on right now.
He adds,
I’m on the outside looking in just like you all.
At one point, he gives them a “thumbs down”.
Tommy tells viewers,
She’s not gone folks, she is just recalibration go.
He adds,
If Wendy weren’t doing well, I wouldn’t be sitting here smiling.

The show was scheduled to return September 20 for Season 13. Initially, it was premiere delayed for weeks after Wendy tested positive for a breakthrough case of Covid-19. Prior to her Covid diagnosis, the show said she would be stepping back from promotional activities ahead of the premiere due to
“ongoing health issues.”
There have been multiple, unconfirmed reports that Wendy was allegedly in rehab and was strongly with her mental health.
The nationally syndicated Wendy Williams Show is produced and distributed by Debmar-Mercury and has been renewed through the 2021-22 season by the Fox Television Stations.
