Tami Roman Explains Why She Called Her Husband, Reggie Youngblood, To Defend Her Against ‘Real World’ Cast Member David Edwards Following Their Heated Dispute

Tami Roman is no stranger to the spotlight and many people may know her from the reality series ‘Basketball Wives’ or for portraying Denise Ford on the BET+ sitcom ‘The Ms. Pat Show.’ The well-known entertainer has been in the public eye since 1993 when she was a cast member on the second season of ‘The Real World: Los Angeles.’

Fast forward almost 29 years later and fans now have the chance to see Tami Roman interact with her former MTV co-stars once again on ‘The Real World Homecoming: Los Angeles’. During the latest episode of the reality series, a conversation about police brutality and the Black Lives Matter movement quickly took a turn for the worse when Tami Roman and David Edwards got into a heated disagreement. During their dispute, Tami found herself on the receiving end of a verbal attack from her cast member David Edwards, who threw numerous insults her way. He also threatened the actress and said,

“The b*tch is heated now! I’ll snatch that motherf*cking wig faster than that f*cking blanket!”

David Edwards was seemingly referring to 1993 when he was ultimately booted out of the ‘Real World’ house for pulling off Tami’s blanket while she was nude and repeatedly asked him not to. Following his remarks, Tami Roman called her husband, Reggie Youngblood, to come to the house and address David. However, production made sure the two men didn’t get a chance to interact with one another and temporarily removed David from the house.

Tami recently explained why she called her husband to deal with her cast member instead of escalating the argument any further. She said,

“Tami Roman is capable of a lot of things and I firmly believe beating the f*ck out of David is one of them. I didn’t necessarily need to call my husband to handle an altercation with David. That’s not something I needed to do.”

She continued,

“The reason I wanted to take that route was because I have several jobs. I fought hard to change the narrative that was out about me and how I interact with people from ‘Basketball Wives.’”

She then listed a few of her accomplishments since stepping away from ‘Basketball Wives’ such as working with actress Octavia Spencer, famed author Carl Weber, and landing her own series on Fox Soul.

She added,

“So I have a lot going on that I’m not willing to jeopardize over David and his shenanigans and that’s just the truth. So rather than me, get belligerent and be fighting with a man on television, I called my husband.”

David has yet to speak on the heated exchange he had with Tami but he seems to be taking a step back from the now-viral moment and has turned his IG page to private. It’s unclear when exactly David locked his page but he is the only cast member from the series with a private account.
