In a video posted to her Instagram account earlier last week, I’m Still Here artist Tisha Campbell-Martin detailed her frightening experience where she encountered a taxi driver who she believes tried to kidnap her for human trafficking.

“Yo this trafficking sh*t is real but they got me f*cked up!”

She says in the video.

While the 53-year-old actress recounts the sketchiness of the entire ordeal, she never discloses the location where the attempted kidnapping took place. Leaving many wondering where she was at the time of the incident.

After several media outlets reported the attempted kidnapping took place in the city of Brownsville, Texas, the Brownsville PD issued a statement announcing a full investigation into the incident. However a few days later, Brownsville PD issued another statement posted to their Facebook page saying that after reviewing security footage and conducting several interviews they could not confirm Tisha Campbell-Martin’s stay in Brownsville nor the alleged kidnapping incident.

In the post they state:

“Upon reviewing facts presented by Ms. Campbell in her video, BPD Investigators quickly launched an investigation as such cases are not the norm in our city. Through numerous interviews and reviews of security camera footage, we could not validate Ms. Campbellā€™s stay in Brownsville hotels nor any other claims made in the video.”
The same day as Brownsville PD’s statement was released, a local news station in Brownsville, Valley Central, reported that a spokesperson for Tisha confirmed that the incident in fact did not occur in Brownsville, but happened while staying in a nearby city of South Padre Island, Texas.
Since Brownsville PD’s statement was released, Tisha Martin-Campbell has not officially disclosed any further details on the matter.
