Nicki Minaj Says Twitter Has Turned Into The ‘Depression Section’ Of The Internet
Nicki Minaj has always been a multi-talented artist with a strong passion for her fanbase, growing a relationship with them over the years via social media.
Nicki Minaj, real name Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, took to Twitter on March 24 to share some thoughts she’s been feeling recently towards the social media platform Twitter. Twitter has been around since 2006, utilized as a social networking service in which users can post, interact and blog in a form known as “tweets.”
The Trinidadian-rapper started the conversation off by posting a tweet stating that the Twitter application is tiring, giving credit to all of the other social media applications that are popular right now. Nicki Minaj, 39, says,
“This has to be the most exhausting app on the planet. All the other apps r so much fun.”

The Barbz, the name for the group of the devoted fan base of Nicki, soon took to Twitter to express their agreement with Nicki. Typically, the Barbz fan base are spending their time engaging with Nicki on Twitter at the address @NICKIMINAJ, outside of listening to her music.
A Barb responded to Nicki’s tweet, saying
“This is why don’t come on here anymore because y’all suck the fun out of this app.”
Nicki responds to the tweet with more to say on the topic,
“I remember this shit used 2b the party app/slumber parties, funny shit you laughed @ in real life, smart beautiful ppl in a good mood… btch this shit turned into the depression section of the internet. Like hmm how can I complain about that tweet? How can I act offended today?”

The Barbz are not impressed by what Twitter has turned into over the years. Fans expressed how they are unable to have that same fun with the female rap icon compared to back in the day. Nicki liked many tweets of fans expressing their frustration of users who are not Barbz chiming in on their conversations.

Nicki eventually focused her attention on her new single that was just released today (March 25). In honor of debut studio album Pink Friday, Nicki has just released a new single with New York rapper Fivio Foreign titled We Go Up. The single has reached #1 on US iTunes.
